I once thought that my life would be fairly straightforward, which has definitely not turned out to be true. But art is the thread that is always there for me to bind and assemble the scraps and shards of experience, emotion and identity.
My work in allied art professions informs my artwork. Being an art therapist and art teacher of young children keeps me exposed to and amazed by a steady stream of exuberant, spontaneous visual expressions. Children are the masters of this; as an adult artist, the challenge is to use my brain but lose my brain...to find my way back to this place of art as an elemental language where object meets emotion and internal meets external.
Art for me is fundamental...it’s how I think, and even moving objects around feels like drawing to me. I make strong connections with found objects that have ‘voices’, or stories, and then create a ‘dialogue’ between them in compositions that can include drawings, knitting, sculpting, etc., etc., etc.
I am happy to share with you...hope you enjoy.

Odds'n'Ends
I have worn many a hat in my day... and take joy in a great many things. When not being an Artist (or indeed, often in procrastination of attempts to do so) I fill my days creating, making, and appreciating a hodgepodge of life's offerings. Here are a few other tidbits I do to pass the time...
I make cupcakes for oh-so-special days...
I design sets - this is a sketch for backdrop of a production of "To Kill a Mockingbird"...
I covet toasters...
I burn my blueberry jam, and it somehow wins a prize...
I wonder what I will ever do with the gobs of beautiful things I've collected from around the globe...
...and I cuddle with my neighbors.
